FG Gives Update On How To Energise Nigeria Electricity

FG to Energise 340,000 MSMEs Through Off-Grid Electricity
The federal government said it is still committed to meeting the target which it has set to energise 340,000 micro, small and medium enterprises SMEs) across the country through adequate and affordable off-grid electricity supply.

Minister of Power, Works & Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, spoke at the weekend while inspecting the Iponri Market Solar Electrification Project in Lagos. 
He said that the government was using the off-grid option to reach millions of SMEs to enhance their productivity and create new job for the people within the area.

According to him, the aim of creating such power supply is to assist over 80,000 shops within a year, and empower over 340,000 micro, small and medium sized enterprises, with creating over 2,500 jobs with the initial 16 economic clusters while serving over 18 million Nigerians at large.

According to the ex Lagos state governor, the people that drive the nation’s economy deserve reliable electricity. 
“They  are in markets, they are in shopping malls, they are in corners, and they are in small shops. 
They constitute the best in any economy. This administration understands energy is an important component of their business.
