Falae Denies Being Involved In Buhari's Adoption

I Was Not Part Of Buhari’s Adoption, Says Olu Falae

Former National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and one-time Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Chief Olu Falae, claims he had distanced himself from the party’s adoption of President Muhammadu Buhari as the party’s candidate for next Saturday’s election.

This happened barely 24 hours after the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party announced that they had adopted the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its presidential candidate, Buhari for the forth coming election.

According to Falae:
I was here in Akure when I learnt about it; I was not at the meeting.
I was not at the meeting because since last year, I have decided to retire from active politics.
”He explained that he took the decision to quit active politics last year when he turned 80 years and had wanted to announce his retirement on September 21, that year, when he attained the age of 80.
