President Buhari Visit To Benin A Doubt As He Cancel's Trip

President Buhari Cancels Trip to Edo State
President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Edo state on today may have been cancelled, a NAN report said this morning.

He was scheduled to declare visit the state as he was going to open the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Annual Conference, initially scheduled to hold in Benin City today.

The cancellation which is rumored to be connected with the killing of Nigerian soldiers at Metele, a remote village bordering Nigeria and Chad.

Arrangements and plans had been completed by Edo State Government to host the President on Nov. 27 where he was billed to inaugurate the Edo-Azura Power Plant and grace the COAS Conference on Tuesday.

The event has been shifted as the president will travel to Maiduguri where he would use the opportunity of the COAS conference to address the Nigerian soldiers at the battlefields to further boost their morale and not give up on their fight.

President Buhari’s aide on New Media, Alhaji Bashir Ahmad, confirmed this new arrangement on his official Twitter handle on Sunday evening.

He said:
“President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to declare the COAS Annual Conference on Nov. 28, 2018 at the Conference Hall CGH in Maiduguri, Borno state.

“The conference was earlier scheduled to take place from 26 -28 November 2018 in Benin, Edo state.”
